About NTRC

The NTRC was created to respond to the needs of industry and government agencies as they address issues related to expanding and maintaining transportation systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and reliably. About 160 researchers and supporting staff from The University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory work at the NTRC. These researchers represent a unique set of research capabilities that deal with almost every aspect of the transportation industry. The NTRC is also home to NTRCI, a not-for-profit organization that provides coordination and project management for complex collaborative projects, and facilitates technology deployment.
